Hyde Park Barracks

Built by a convict architect to hold convicts, it is one of Australia’s prime museums. Here you can find a hammock room where inmates slept cheek to jowl, all crammed together; exhibits of the time, and diagramas immersing you into the state’s past and for you to see for yourself the havoc the mass migration, often forced, wrecked upon the Indian groups population. Keep in mind that the tours are done through interactive media and admission is by a timed ticket. Book in advance and note that the museum is open from 10am to 5pm, with a visit at$24 peradult/16 per child.
